Black German Shephard
Black German shephard is commonly known as the Alsatian. It basically
originated in Germany in 1899 and is quite massive in size. They are
famous for their abilities so they are employed in police forces around
the world.
Black German shepherds have a length between 55 and 65 cm and weight
ranging between 22 and 40 kilograms. These are available in
amazing
varieties, the most common being tan/black or red/black varieties.
Complete black, white or blue varieties are lesser in number. The Black
German shephard has been accepted as the standard due to its colour.
These dogs are famous for their intelligence. They rank third in
intelligence. They could learn new things after just listening to them 5
times. As a result these are recruited for serving search and rescue
purposes in police forces as well as performing some other operations.
These dogs are quite aggressive and thus can harm other dogs as well.
Even human beings can be bitten by these dogs. These dogs are known for
their loyalty and at times they can be really friendly but sometimes
they can become over protective. Although can bond with people but this
doesn’t mean that they bond immediately with the strangers.
These dogs can also suffer from various diseases. They can suffer
from arthritis and its early stages can be seen in the form of hip and
leg dysplasia. They may also suffer from ear infections or bloat. They
are also susceptible to Von Willebrand Disease.
Due to their various traits they are used for various purposes. Due
to their good identifying abilities of the scents, they are used in
search and rescue, narcotics detection, explosive detections, mine
detection etc. They do not get distracted easily.
Those who plan to breed them as pets should keep the background in
their mind in which it would be reared. They can be good for you but at
times they can also cause destructions. It needs exercising as well and
should be kept untied else it might get frustrated and cause havoc. They
can become quite friendly with children as well.

So if you are planning to keep them as a pet, then hold on, first do
some research work and only then go for the decision whether you would
be able to provide them the appropriate conditions so that it doesn’t
cause any harm. Without proper knowledge, you may invite troubles for
yourself and your family.
